About
Built by a collector with 2,300 games and no good way to find one
Games Library started as a private tool to catalogue one collection across 38 platforms: which copies were complete, what each one cost, what to play on a free evening. It became the product because the questions are the same for every collector.
Why not a spreadsheet
A spreadsheet knows what you typed. A shelf should know the cover, the score, how long the game is, whether the disc still works without a server, and what it is worth today. That needs a database behind every row.
Why the camera
The box carries more truth than a title typed from memory: the platform band, the region on the back, the edition. Reading it directly avoids fixing the record later.
Why plain-language search
“Something short for tonight” is how people think about their backlog. The app translates it into filters over your own games, so the answer is always something you actually own.
Why it stays yours
Export at any time, delete everything in one click, data in the EU. A catalogue you cannot take with you is not yours.
Data sources
Game metadata: IGDB (Twitch) and RAWG, under their terms. Exchange rates: European Central Bank via frankfurter.dev. Identification and natural-language search: Anthropic Claude with Google Gemini as fallback; what you submit is processed and not used to train models under our agreements.
Put your collection on the shelf
