Game Gear Micro

Miniature console with four built-in games, released in Japan in 2020 for Sega's 60th anniversary.

Sega unveiled the Game Gear Micro on June 3, 2020 as part of its 60th anniversary and released it in Japan on October 6, 2020. Rather than a cartridge system, it is a dedicated console. It was sold through Japanese stores in four versions that differ in colour and game selection; each contains four Game Gear titles.

All of them measure 80 × 43 × 20 mm, have a 29 mm screen and a headphone jack, and run on two AAA batteries or a separate USB charger. Pre-orders came with a magnifier modelled on the original system's Big Window accessory. In December 2020, M2 shipped a special version under licence from Sega with a limited edition of Aleste Collection, including the new G.G. Aleste 3 and four other Aleste games.
