Why collect for PS1
The original PlayStation is the great nineties classic in Spain. Its multi-disc games, its big cases and the cult titles that reached Europe in small numbers are the most sought after, and copies with the original plastic case intact are scarce.
PAL editions in Spain
Spanish PAL cases come with Spanish cover art and manual; Metal Gear Solid, for instance, is remembered for its Spanish dub. Reissues with the Platinum banner are the cheapest. For multi-disc games such as the Final Fantasy titles, make sure all the discs are there.
What to look for
- Original cover versus Platinum.
- Complete multi-disc games in their original wide case.
- Scratch-free discs and Spanish-language manuals.
