Xbox Series X

The high-end model: a black tower with an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive, 16 GB of GDDR6, a 1 TB SSD and a 4K/60 fps target.

Microsoft set two goals for the Series X: double the Xbox One X's graphics performance and quadruple its CPU performance, without making more noise. The parts would draw about 315 W, so the team split them across two boards mounted on either side of an aluminium chassis. Everything else was fitted around them, giving a 15.1 × 15.1 × 30.1 cm tower weighing 4.45 kg, with a single fan on top. It can stand upright or lie on its side.

Its 7 nm AMD APU pairs eight Zen 2 cores at 3.8 GHz with an RDNA 2 GPU of 52 compute units at 1.825 GHz, about 12.15 teraflops. It has 16 GB of GDDR6 in two pools of different speeds and a 1 TB SSD with 802 GB free. It targets 4K at 60 fps. 8K support was promised through a later update that never came. It launched on November 10, 2020, at $499.
