Xbox One S
The 2016 revision: 40% smaller, white, internal power supply, 4K video, HDR10 and an Ultra HD Blu-ray drive.
Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One S on June 13, 2016, at E3. Its case is 40% smaller, in matte white, and can stand vertically with a stand. Capacitive keys gave way to physical buttons, the side USB port and sync button moved to the front, and the power supply went inside. The dedicated Kinect port was dropped, so an adapter is needed. The 2 TB model launched on August 2, 2016, and the 500 GB and 1 TB models on August 23, at $299, $349 and $399.
It plays 4K and HDR10 video, including Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, while games are upscaled from 1080p. Its GPU runs at a higher clock than the original's. Its revised controller added textured grips and Bluetooth. Reviewers praised its design and image improvements but regretted losing the Kinect port. It was discontinued by the end of 2020.
