PSP-1000
280-gram launch model with a 4.3-inch screen, 32 MB of RAM, an infrared port and an 1800 mAh battery.
The launch model measures 170 × 74 × 23 mm and weighs 280 grams. It has a 4.3-inch 480 × 272 TFT screen, an analog stick, an IrDA infrared emitter, a Mini USB port and a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot. Inside are MIPS processors rated at 333 MHz, a 166 MHz GPU and 32 MB of RAM, though games were capped at 222 MHz until firmware 3.50 in May 2007.
Its 1800 mAh battery gives three to six hours of play and recharges in about an hour and a half. In Japan it came as a base unit or a Value Pack with a 32 MB memory card and other accessories; North America and Europe got only the Value Pack, and early American units included the Spider-Man 2 film on UMD. It was first sold only in Piano Black, with Ceramic White arriving in Japan in September 2005. Hardware limits keep it from running Skype.
