Sharp C1 (My Computer TV)
Sharp CRT television with a built-in Famicom, sold in Japan from October 1983 in 14-inch and 19-inch sizes.
The Sharp C1 is a CRT television with a built-in Famicom, made by Sharp under licence from Nintendo. It launched in Japan in October 1983 as the My Computer TV, in two sizes: 14 inches on the 4th, at ¥93,000, and 19 inches on the 25th, at ¥145,000. It came in black and red or light silver and red. From 1984 it was also sold in Taiwan as the Sampo C1.
Because the console connects directly to the screen, it gave a better picture than a Famicom with a separate TV, so it supplied the screenshots for many magazines of the time. Japanese units have two built-in programs, JR GRAPHIC and TV NOTE, detachable controllers with round connectors, and an exclusive multicart with versions of Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong Jr. no Sansuu Asobi. It was followed by the Super Famicom-based SF1 in December 1990.
